Bio-Enzyme Cleaners 101: How They Work (and When They Don’t)

By

Reading Time:

1–2 minutes

Bio-enzyme cleaners are everywhere now in India—especially for floors, toilets, drains, and odor control. They’re marketed as “natural,” but users often complain that they feel slow.

What bio-enzymes do

They use enzymes/microbes to break down organic matter over time (food residue, grease, some odors). They’re not always instant like bleach-based cleaners.

Best use-cases

  • Kitchen drains and grease build-up
  • Odor control in bins and bathrooms
  • Regular mopping for maintenance cleaning

When to avoid

  • On natural stone without testing first
  • When you need immediate disinfection (use appropriate disinfectants)

Dummy note: Add product picks later (Koparo/Born Good/Satopradhan etc.) when you finalize affiliates.
